CHARLOTTE — A crash on East Woodlawn Road near Scaleybark Road involving power lines cut power to hundreds of people in south Charlotte on Thursday morning.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the crash happened just after 2 a.m. The police have not released the cause of the crash or if there were any injuries.
A Channel 9 news crew live on the scene saw that East Woodlawn Road was closed in both directions as technicians continued to work to restore power.

According to Duke Energy’s outage map, power should be fully restored by 11:30 a.m.
Channel 9 reached out to MEDIC about injuries and transports, but they were canceled before arrival.
Officials reopened the road around 7:45 a.m.
