DAVIDSON, N.C. — It was a big night for the Davidson Wildcats and coach Bob McKillop Saturday.
The Wildcats pulled off a huge surprise to honor their head basketball coach -- naming the court at Belk Arena McKillop Court.
Now in his 25th season, McKillop has coached Davidson to the Southern Conference Championship nine times. The Wildcats have earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tourney seven times and McKillop has been the SOCON Coach of the Year nine times.
Following the ceremony, a hyped crowd watched as McKillop's Wildcats defeated The Citadel, 62-43.
