Deputies: SC teen stabbed, 6 girls face assault charges after fight over boy

PAGELAND, S.C. — Chesterfield County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating after a 16-year-old girl was stabbed when she and five other girls were involved in a fight with another teen over a boy in Pageland Monday night.

Officials said the 16-year-old girl, along with five other females, drove from Cheraw to fight another teenager over a boy. The girls involved ranged in age from 16 to 18 years old.

Investigators said the group of girls attacked 18-year-old Andrea Joines in her home on Boyd Evans Road and were assaulting her on the floor when she grabbed a knife and stabbed a 16-year-old attacker.

Deputies told Channel 9's South Carolina bureau reporter that four of the girls have been charged and sent to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.

Officials said one of the 17-year-old girls has been arrested and they are still looking for another 17-year-old involved.

According to deputies, charges against the group include assault, battery by mob, making threats and lying to police.

Joines will not be charged in the incident.

The girl who was stabbed was transported to a hospital in Monroe and was charged after her release.
