Detectives not giving up 5 years after Lincoln County woman vanished

Toasha Nicole Rice (AKA Nikki Green)

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Detectives are still looking for the break that will help them find a Lincoln County woman who has been missing for half a decade.

It has been five years since Toasha Nicole Rice (who also went by Nikki Green on Facebook) vanished after leaving a friend’s house on Eaker Road in western Lincoln County.

Investigators said Rice got into a black four-door sedan with a white woman driver on May 26, 2014, and has not been seen since.

After years of interviewing family members and people who knew Rice, no information about where she might be has turned up.

Past coverage:

In the months after Rice was reported missing, officers used a K-9 search team in a large wooded area off Sorrells Baxter Road and Eaker Road, around the old Massapoag Mill in Lincolnton and several other locations outside Lincoln County.

No trace of the woman has been found.

“Since I have been in office we have continued to receive tips from the public,” said Lincoln County Sheriff Bill Beam. “The investigation is ongoing as deputies follow up on the information and tips that have come, but unfortunately none of the information has panned out. We’re continuing to keep the word out there that she is still missing and maybe someone will remember something that could help in the case.”

Rice was 27 years old when she disappeared.

She is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.
