CHARLOTTE — Detectives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are looking into a death investigation in the 6900 block of The Plaza near East W.T. Harris Boulevard.
The death investigation, which began on Wednesday in east Charlotte, has authorities uncovering the details surrounding the case. CMPD initially said this was a homicide and later clarified it was a death investigation.
However, there was a homicide in west Charlotte earlier in the day.
Just after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to a reported break-in on Florentine Way, where they discovered a man who had succumbed to gunshot wounds before medical help arrived.
No additional details have been made available.
