Developer plots 700-plus apartments in two communities in South End

CHARLOTTE — Hoffman & Associates is breaking into the Charlotte market with two apartment projects in South End.

The Washington, D.C.-based developer is planning to invest $300 million between the two projects at 2500 and 2401 Distribution streets that will span more than 800,000 square feet. Both properties will include a mix of apartment types.

The first project, at 2500 Distribution St., will be a 350,000-square-foot, 330-unit apartment complex that includes indoor and outdoor amenities.

The project at 2401 Distribution St. will be a 425,000-square-foot property with 410 apartments and about 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
