Developer seeks rezoning for major mixed-use project in Kannapolis

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — A public hearing will be held next week on a developer’s rezoning request for a marquee project in the Charlotte region.

On Tuesday, the Kannapolis Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing and consider the rezoning petition for the Kannapolis Crossing project. The request is being made by Louisiana-based developer Commercial Properties Realty Trust, or CPRT, for a 278.8-acre site on Old Beatty Ford Road. A site plan available in planning commission documents shows the mixed-use project would be quite significant if it moves forward.
