CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating Tuesday’s third shooting after finding a man lying in a yard in west Charlotte.
The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Brianna Way and Crestridge Drive.
Police said when they found the man, they witnesses a vehicle speed away. Officers tried to pull that vehicle over, but it took off and hit a pedestrian on Tuckaseegee Road near Pryor Street.
Officials said the suspect vehicle led police on a pursuit until it reached the hospital. There, everyone in the car was detained.
While at the hospital, police discovered one of the people in the car had a gunshot wound. That person is expected to be OK.
The pedestrian that was hit was taken to the hospital and was treated for head injuries. The man who was shot at the original scene has injuries that police say may be life-threatening.
