Duck hunter rescued after becoming trapped on Lake Norman

A man was rescued from Lake Norman Wednesday morning after getting trapped in the water.

DENVER, N.C. — A man was rescued from Lake Norman Wednesday morning after getting trapped in the water.

The East Lincoln and Denver fire and rescue squads used a boat to save the man near Governors Island in Denver.
       
Firefighters said the man was out duck hunting on the lake when his boat ran aground.

When the man got out to try and push the boat along, firefighters said he fell in a hole and got trapped in the water.

His friend on a nearly island called 911.

The man was wet and cold, but didn't have to be taken to the hospital.
