CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — A fiberglass plant in Cleveland County with close to 500 workers is shutting down.
Nippon Electric Glass’s plant in Shelby will close by the end of August.
The plant has been in the county since 1957.
Nippon bought it in 2017.
Nippon will stop making fiberglass entirely in North America.
