• Firefighters battle early morning house fire in Hickory


    HICKORY, N.C. - Firefighters spent roughly 20 minutes battling flames at a Hickory home early Saturday morning.

    Firefighters arrived at the house on 6th Avenue Drive NW around 5:25 a.m. and saw fire coming from the structure.

    Nobody was hurt and the fire was contained to the attic and outside wall of the structure.

    Investigators determined the fire was accidental and the cause was electrical.

    The Red Cross responded and will be helping the family.
