Firefighters prevent storage shed flames from spreading to house

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters worked to put out a fire they said gutted a storage building in Gastonia overnight.

The fire started on Grier Street around 3:15 a.m.

The building was destroyed but no one was hurt. Firefighters managed to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby house.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what started it.
