CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters battled a house fire Monday afternoon near Johnson C. Smith University’s campus in west Charlotte.
They were called to a home on North Gardner Avenue, which is one mile away from the school.
Firefighters had to shut down part of West Trade Street near the home because of fire operations.
Channel 9 is reaching out to firefighters to learn more about the fire and if anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire.
