CHARLOTTE — First Citizens Bancshares Inc. is permanently closing one of its Charlotte locations, according to a filing with the North Carolina Commissioner of Banks.

Raleigh-based First Citizens confirmed the drive-thru branch at 209 S. Church St. is closing for good this spring. It has been temporarily closed since last October. The branch’s one employee was reassigned to First Citizens’ main Charlotte location at 128 S. Tryon St.
