MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — First responders are investigating after a North Carolina woman drowned at a Myrtle Beach resort early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 4 a.m. at the Patricia Grand Resort along North Ocean Boulevard.
According to our news affiliate WPDE, 57-year-old Paula Egleston's body was pulled from a resort hot tub.
This is the third drowning of the year for the Myrtle Beach area. The two other drownings happened at hotel pools.
Now, there is a push to require hotels and condos with pools to have an automated external defibrillator, or AED, nearby.
Organizers also want hotel staff to have CPR training.
The state of South Carolina does not require businesses to have AEDs.
