CHARLOTTE — The former Miss North Carolina USA is suing pageant organizers over the loss of her title.
The lawsuit accuses the organization of publishing a false narrative that painted Brittany Boltinhouse as a “racist” and a “bigot.”
The organization revoked her title weeks before she was set to compete. Officials cited conduct that violated its standards.
Boltinhouse claims she was targeted because of her Christian faith and conservative political views.
Myla Hadley, the runner-up from Charlotte, has now assumed the crown.
The Miss USA Pageant starts Thursday.
