Former NC senator looks to open new law firm in Raleigh

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards is looking to open a new law firm in Raleigh.

CNN is reporting that the former senator and one-time presidential candidate will return to the legal field.

He was a successful lawyer in malpractice, personal injury and product liability cases before politics.

Edwards made headlines for an extramarital affair and charges of campaign finance wrongdoing.

Those charges were dropped last year after a jury deadlocked.
