Former Panthers player sells Charlotte home for nearly $4 million

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Josh McCown, an NFL veteran and former player for the Carolina Panthers, has sold his SouthPark-area home. The sale tops $3.7 million.

That 7,420-square-foot home in Charlotte’s Carmel Park neighborhood had been on the market for less than a month before it went under contract in early October. The home was listed for sale on Sept. 15 at $3.95 million. Its price was lowered to $3.795 million on Sept. 30 and it went under contract a week later.

The home sold for $3.75 million, said David Hoffman of David Hoffman Group, who handled the listing for the McCowns. The deed for the sale, dated Nov. 6, was mailed in and filed in Mecklenburg County on Friday.

The home has six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and three half-bathrooms. It includes an open floor plan with features such as a chef’s kitchen, two recreation rooms and a pool house. The outdoors space has a new pool and spa, a sport court and a covered grilling area.
