PRAGUE — A student from North Carolina said he was in a building across from a massive explosion overnight in the Czech capital of Prague.
At least 40 people were hurt in the blast.
Police said it was likely caused by a natural gas problem.
Windows hundreds of yards away shattered.
A 2012 University of North Carolina graduate spoke about the damage.
"I was in the bathroom, no windows, the door was closed. Honestly, if I had been in my bed, I would have been covered in glass," said Z.B. Haislip.
Crews have evacuated nearby buildings and blocked off a wide area around the blast site.
