Fundraiser planned for Stanly Co. teen severely injured in crash

Friends and family of a North Stanly High School student are rallying to raise money for her medical care after she was hurt in an accident.

In March, 17-year-old Katelin Rush was nearly killed when a pickup truck T-boned the car she was in on Highway 52.

Rush needs intensive therapy and a conversion van after suffering severe head trauma.

Organizers are throwing a barbecue fundraiser Friday night at West Albemarle Baptist Church.
