Fundraiser raises money to help homeless children

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A fundraiser in South Park raised money for homeless children in Mecklenburg County.

Eyewitness News anchors Natalie Pasquarella and Blair Miller were the emcees for the A Child's Place event Saturday at the Renaissance Hotel.

Last year, the group helped more than 2,000 homeless children in Charlotte.

This year, they hope to help more with the help of the money raised at Saturday's event.

Last summer, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools reported there are nearly 5,000 homeless students.
