CHARLOTTE, NC — Harris Teeter is now offering $75,000 for information regarding the string of robberies in the Charlotte area.
Police believe that the men who robbed the Harris Teeter on Providence Road in May are also responsible for robberies in Cornelius, Union County and South Carolina.
Harris Teeter had previously offered $50,000 for information.
In the May robbery, police said two men stole money from the front register and forced an employee to lie on the ground. They fired several shots during the robbery, which happened while customers were still shopping inside.
"They're definitely aggressive. They're violent, and they're dangerous," said Lt. Jennifer Thompson, with the Cornelius Police Department.
The men later went into the back room with a manager and stole from the safe. The store's manager was struck in the head, and had to be treated by paramedics, police said.
The robbers fled the store on foot. None of the customers was injured during the robbery.
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
