High of 85 degrees expected Wednesday as pollen count rises

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Very warm weather remains in place Wednesday, and with it will come a touch of humidity.

Pollen numbers were off the charts Tuesday and are in the very high category.

Bright sunshine will bring a high of 85 degrees Wednesday, which is not far from the record of 90 degrees.

There are no signs of that changing anytime soon, until the rain can wash it away.

The first storm chance will build throughout the day Thursday, but the main activity won't arrive until the overnight hours.

An isolated storm could fire up in the afternoon hours ahead of the cold front that could be quite strong.

Drier weather returns quickly Friday with most of the rain gone by late morning.

Dry and milder temperatures returns for the weekend with temperatures back to the lower 70s.
