CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD is investigating a homicide after a man was found dead Friday at a homeless camp in the Elizabeth neighborhood just outside of uptown Charlotte.

Police responded to the scene on Morrow Street near Elizabeth Avenue by the Interstate-277 loop.
At about 3 p.m., Charlotte Fire Department Ladder 1 was driving along Elizabeth Avenue when two people flagged it down.
Firefighters were led to a homeless camp near Central Piedmont Community College where they found the body.
CMPD later identified the victim as James Scott Anderson, 60.
No further information has been released.
