Huntersville Fire engine drives off side of road

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Huntersville Fire Department engine drove off the side of the road Tuesday morning.

It happened on Asbury Chapel Road at a curve near Eastfield Road.

No one was hurt in the incident, Huntersville Fire said, and there was no damage to the truck.

According to authorities, the ground in that area was soft so the truck needed help from a wrecker to make it back to the road.

The engine was returning from a medical call it had cleared from at 5:36 a.m., Huntersville Fire said.
