‘It’s a blessing’: Charlotte nonprofit works to address food insecurity in uptown

CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte nonprofit is working to address food insecurity in the heart of uptown.

“It’s a blessing. It’s a blessing for anybody who wants it,” said resident Maehelen Bell.

The market is organized by The Bulb, a Charlotte nonprofit that started in 2016 to reduce food insecurity.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, volunteers had to put it on hold, but now they’re back helping people like Bell.
