Law enforcement capture missing Lincolnton inmate

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Corrections officers and local law enforcement agencies said Thursday night that a missing inmate was captured in South Carolina. Inmate Ronald Billings, 38, went missing Thursday from a work release program. He was last seen at around 2:45 p.m. at a work location in Lincolnton.

Billings was serving a seven-year prison sentence for breaking and entering, forgery and other property crimes. His projected release date is February 2015. Billings was housed at Lincoln Correctional Center, 464 Roper Drive, Lincolnton.

He has ties to Morganton, Alleghany County, as well as out of state.

Conway, S.C. police officers captured Billings around 9:45 p.m. in Conway. Billings is in custody in the Horry County Jail. An alleged accomplice, Delora Miller, is facing charges of aiding and abetting escape.
