GASTONIA, N.C. — A multifamily development and property management firm based in Gastonia is seeking to rezone land there for a new project.

The Gastonia Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Feb. 3 for a rezoning request from Southwood Realty Co. The firm is seeking to rezone 17.5 acres at Robinwood and Kendrick roads for a mixed-use project, commission documents state. If approved, the rezoning would allow for up to 194 apartments, 14 detached homes and 26,200 square feet of commercial space at the site.
