Local musician using Kannapolis studio to help artists reach Facebook Live audiences

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — They might not look like your typical concerts, but for now, they’ll have to do.

Area musicians and artists are struggling as more and more people isolate and distance themselves from others.

Travis Motley saw a way to help both groups, by putting his studio in Kannapolis to work. Motley has been inviting local artists into his home studio to perform on Facebook Live.

Normally a performer himself, Motley is now an audience of one, but using his equipment to mix the session, he's providing a high-quality stream of an intimate concert using the power of music to give people watching at home a brief but much needed respite.
