Mike Markham who announces Winthrop University sporting events is heading to the Olympics in Rio.
He's been aiming for the Olympic Games for five years and was brought to tears when he learned he will announce for women's basketball in Rio.
WINTHROP — "I'm just about to work on practicing team rosters because obviously I'll be pronouncing names of athletes hailing from all over the world so that can be quite a challenge," Markham said.
Markham will work 18 games at the Olympics including several contests with U.S. teams.
