Local startup bringing new amenities to Charlotte apartments

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Skipper, a technology-enabled dog-walking company, is partnering with Northwood Ravin to bring pet care amenities to several of the developer’s sites.

Starting in July, residents at the Village at Commonwealth in Plaza Midwood will have access to on-site daycare, grooming and boarding services through Skipper. Residents can also schedule at-home pick-up and drop-off times with Skipper employees. Services are available for dogs and cats.

Skipper is opening its 3,500-square-foot facility in the Phase II portion of the Village at Commonwealth. All services will be navigated via Skipper’s mobile app.

“We’re constantly looking to push the envelope around enhancing the experience for our residents. Almost half of our residents are pet owners,” says Ben Yorker, vice president at Northwood Ravin.
