MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Lowe’s Cos. Inc. launched an in-house, tool- and equipment-rental service this week.
The Mooresville-based home-improvement retailer debuted that offering at its South End store on Thursday.
It has added a 4,000-square-foot department with commercial-grade equipment at its store at 217 Iverson Way. Lowe’s plans to duplicate that model across the country over the next few years, says Fred Stokes, senior vice president of Pro Sales and Services.
“I think it is something our customers have been asking for and we’re ready to deliver,” Stokes said. “Our goal is to grow as fast as customers will allow us. It also depends on the community and the location.”
