Man arrested, accused in shooting at Catawba County restaurant

CONOVER, N.C. — Police arrested a man after a shooting at a Catawba County restaurant.

Martin Alvarez was taken into custody after being accused of shooting a man at the El Pasa Restaurant on Conover Boulevard in Conover.

The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m.

Police said the victim drove himself to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Officers have not said what led to the shooting.
