Man arrested for shooting victim after argument in Hiddenite, deputies say

HIDDENITE, N.C. — A 60-year-old man from Stony Point was arrested after allegedly shooting another man Thursday in Alexander County.

Channel 9′s Dave Faherty heard about the shooting around 10 a.m. and went to the scene on Johnny Martin Road in Hiddenite. Authorities said one person was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office said the suspected shooter was identified as James Henry Hall. He was charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury.

Deputies said the shooting happened after “an argument between several subjects.” It’s not clear if the argument involved anyone else other than Hall and the victim.

The victim is expected to recover.
