CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — A man is dead after he fled from police and crashed his car Friday, police said.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office were on a surveillance investigation at a home in Cabarrus County.
They saw the suspect leave his home and tried to pull him over but he sped away.
Moments later they found the car that had slammed into a tree along Flowes Store Road.
Authorities said there was cocaine inside the vehicle.
The name of the crash victim has not been released.
