On Sunday, A witness who spoke with Channel 9 said they saw police searching for evidence inside a black car at a Rock Hill gas station.

"We saw policemen taking things out of that car over there and put them down on the ground," he said.

Authorities told Eyewitness News that officers were processing the vehicle and that it was linked to the homicide, though they did not say how they tracked it down or who it belongs to.

Rock Hill police said the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department assisted them in the arrest.

Baird is being held in Charlotte.

This is Rock Hill’s third homicide this year.
