MassMutual will lay off 163 employees on June 3, followed by one more between June 27 and July 3, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the North Carolina Department of Commerce. The office is in the Woodward Building at 11215 N. Community House Road in Ballantyne.
The company said the closing is due to ongoing consolidation of its operations. All employees were offered positions in Massachusetts. Most of the other approximately 140 employees already left to pursue other opportunities, said Laura Crisco, head of media relations at MassMutual.
