Missing Gaston County man was last seen leaving work, police say

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gaston County police are asking for the public’s help finding a man who was last seen leaving work earlier this month.

According to police, 51-year-old Jody Wayne Ledford was reported missing by family members. He was last seen on Sept. 2 leaving work at Solvere LLC in Belmont. Ledford’s last contact with family members was later that night. Ledford’s last known contact with anyone was on Sept. 3 when he texted his work supervisor and said he wouldn’t be at work that day.

Police said Ledford left his cellphone at home and disappeared.

When Ledford was last seen, he was driving his black 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. The vehicle has a NC license plate of TEL-2108. It also has a NC State Wolfpack tag on the front bumper.

Ledford is described as a 5 feet, 8 inches tall and185 pounds with salt/pepper hair and goatee. He also wears glasses.
