Morris McAdoo will be new District One County Commissioner

CHARLOTTE — The Republican Party won’t have a candidate on the ballot for Mecklenburg County Commissioner District One.

The Board of Elections says the GOP did not submit a replacement for Aaron Marin in time.

Channel 9 reported earlier this year that Marin dropped out of the race after someone shot into his home.

With no Republican challenger, Democrat Morris McAdoo will be the new District One County Commissioner.

District One includes north Charlotte and the Lake Norman suburbs.

McAdoo told Channel 9 he wants to bring county services closer to residents and strengthen mental health services.
