CLOVER, — A woman was arrested after someone saw her 3-year-old son alone in a car outside a store Wednesday, police said.
Sara West, 23, of Gastonia, was arrested after a shopper at the Bi-Lo store in Clover saw the child, red and sweaty, took a photograph of the car and sent it to police.
The shopper then told West when she came out of the store that she called police.

West left and was later stopped by Clover police.
West told police that her son became grumpy and pitched a fit when woken from a nap, so she decided not to wake him, police said. She left him in the car while she bought formula for another child.
The car was turned off and the windows were all the way up. West’s bond was set at $10,000.
