Mother worries for daughter connected to homicide investigation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The mother of a teenager on the run from police said she believes her daughter is in imminent danger.

Ahmia Feaster disappeared with her boyfriend Alex Castillo and co-worker Sandy Le more than three weeks ago.

A week after they vanished, police found Le dead and believe the other two are in Mexico.

Feaster’s mother Monica McIver talked to reporter DaShawn Brown and said her daughter is in trouble.

“I'm just devastated,” McIver said. “I can't even explain it.”

McIver is waiting for answers.

“I don't know if she's safe,” the mother said. “I don't even know if she's alive.”

Homicide investigators found Le's body in northeast Charlotte and her car in Phoenix.

“I was devastated because I was thinking the same thing was going to happen to my daughter,” McIver said.

Police believe Feaster and Castillo drove Le's car cross-country and went to Mexico.

McIver said the two were with Castillo’s family in Aguascalientes  and later in Vera Cruz.

In a Facebook conversation between the mother and daughter, McIver asked if Feaster was safe or scared.

“No, I'm not scared. I'm fine,” the message read.

The mother also asked if she needed money or if she would see her again.

"I don't know, but if I don't, I love all of ya'll," the message read.

"Just trying to hold everything," hold it together for my children," McIver said. "My other three children, my husband.  It's hard. It's really hard."

There are no new details from local police who issued arrest warrants for Castillo and Feaster.

They're charged with the possession of a stolen vehicle after Le's car turned up in Arizona.
