LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — South Carolina state troopers were investigating a fatal motorcycle crash Thursday night in Lancaster County.
According to the Highway Patrol, the wreck happened just before 8 p.m. on Highway 5 near US 521, five miles north of Lancaster.
Troopers said the rider of a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was heading east on Highway 5 when he collided with a tree that had fallen across the road.
The rider died at the scene. His name has not been released.
