CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night after a motorcycle struck the back of a tractor-trailer on South Carolina Highway 9 in Chester County, troopers said.
The collision occurred at 11:17 p.m. near Lyle Road as both vehicles were traveling west on South Carolina Highway 9 in the Richburg area.

According to officials, a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer was slowing down to turn into a driveway when a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle struck the rear of the vehicle.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation and additional information will be released by the coroner’s office.
The name of the motorcyclist was not released.
