CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board has voted to pass a motion to terminate Superintendent Crystal Hill.
The decision was made during the board meeting Tuesday evening.
According to Channel 9 reporter Jonathan Lowe, the motion was brought forth by school board member Dr. Charlitta Hatch.
It later passed due to a 5-to-4 vote. Hill will be paid $340,770 over a year since the firing for convenience.
This comes after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board Member Stephanie Sneed resigned from her role as chair Tuesday afternoon.
The termination comes after months of controversy surrounding the school board’s original decision to suspend Hill, investigate her, and then reinstate her in August.
