CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Noah Lazes has hope the AvidXchange Music Factory will be back to hosting concerts and live entertainment by the end of summer.

For that to happen, it’s critical that North Carolina’s leaders provide a timeline so scheduling can take place. Capacity limits need to be increased if certain COVID-19 checkpoints are met, says Lazes, co-founder of The Ark Group.

That Charlotte development company launched the 30-acre Music Factory entertainment complex near uptown in 2006. Its venues have been dark since last March.

“Things don’t just start overnight,” Lazes says. “The biggest issue now is planning.”
