NORTH CAROLINA — Police have arrested a North Carolina man who they say made bomb threats to more than 400 schools and government buildings nationwide.
Officials said the threats caused fire departments, schools and other agencies to evacuate.
In New York City, six EMS/fire departments were evacuated along with schools in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Oregon, California and Georgia.
In total, they said Paul Martikainen made 442 threats in a 26-hour span asking about bombs and threatening violence.
Court documents show Martikainen was also involuntarily committed in 2018.
