WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina high school student had part of her ear bitten off in a fight on a school bus. It happened last week in Wake County.
Deputies said a girl on the bus threw a lunch bag at Amber Romero, starting the fight. It led to Romero biting the other girl’s ear.
Romero’s mother said she feels terrible about what happened.
“I really truly feel sorry for the family and we, me and my daughter, sincerely apologize and we both hate it that this happened to her,” she said.
Romero says the assault charge, and a previous charge, are the result of her fighting back after being bullied.
