BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — There have been major traffic delays along a dangerous stretch of Interstate 40 for months now.

From mile marker 113 to 116, there have been more than 200 wrecks in a construction zone in Burke County since the beginning of 2018.
In the video at the top of this page, Eyewitness News reporter Dave Faherty explains the risk to drivers and why it may be another year before anyone sees improvements in that area.
