• Officials warn to stay away from Lake Wylie after sewage spill

    Updated:

TEGA CAY, S.C. - Neighbors near Tega Cay are being warned to stay away from Lake Wylie Monday after another sewage spill.

Officials said 300 gallons of sewage leaked into the lake near Manawa Lane Saturday during the heavy rain.

Crews have cleaned the site but they'll keep running tests to make sure the bacteria levels have returned to normal.

This spill comes after city officials recently decided to buy the water service from Utilities Inc. after several sewage spills into the lake.
