CLOVER, S.C. — The Lexington County Sheriff’s Office has closed the case after a teen from Clover reported that she was attacked by three other girls.
Channel 9 reported when the alleged assault was first under investigation. A police report from June says the alleged assault happened on a Friday night, and someone called 911 to report it. The caller told dispatch his daughter was staying with a few friends at a house on Lake Murray, and the friends beat her up.
The police report said one girl claims the three other girls “put [her] under a blanket” and that she couldn’t breathe. The girl said her friends beat her up and dragged her across the room.
After the alleged assault, the family raised more than $20,000 on Gofundme after a post went viral on social media.
Nearly two months later, the sheriff’s office says no charges are being filed in connection with the case. No other details have been released.
